NEG for SERRL ...

The NEG was formed by British Cycling to provide an accredited group of motorcyclists trained to assist with the safety of events held on the public highway. The South East Road Race league is supported by the NEG on its events and has become a much valued and integral part of SERRLs ability to provide safe cycle events on the public highway.

The aim of the NEG is to assist with and enhance safety for competitors, officials and members of the general public alike by advising and informing the general public and other road users in particular of an approaching event. It also assists with race direction, keeping race officials and riders up to date with event progress and by complimenting static marshals.

We are always looking for new members to join the ranks of the NEG to assist with events so if your interested and hold an advanced riding certificate (IAM, RoSPA or similar) please contact Russ Saunders saunders_russ@hotmail.com or Ian Terry ITerry7163@aol.com - who regularly assist on SERRL events for an informal chat about training, other aspects of what is involved or to arrange to come along to a SERRL event and see the NEG in action.

Alternatively contact the British cycling South East NEG regional co-ordinator Paul Morton paul,morton@live.co.uk for further information on the NEG or visit the British Cycling website.

The National Escort Group GB was formed by British Cycling and British Triathlon to provide and accredited group of motorcyclists trained to assist with the safety of events held on the public highway and aims to enhance and maximise safety for competitors, officials and members of the general public alike
